General Tips

This guide will walk you through using the library catalog and our electronic databases so that you can find biographical information on historical figures.

Check your search terms for misspellings - databases are not as forgiving as Google, so if you aren't seeing any results, it may be because you mispelled a name.

Be creative with your searches - you might find information by searching for a time period, era, major event, or social movement. You don't have to just search by name all the time!

Start your research early so you can get help if you're stuck! If you start too late, we won't be able to help you at the last minute.
