Using NoodleBib to Cite Your Sources

We also have some video tutorials on using NoodleBib.

To get to NoodleBib, go the the LRC Services tab in MyCampus. NoodleBib is to the right of the screen, beneath the LRC Chat box.

Click the Current Users: Sign In button in the lower left. If do not already have an account, you will need to Create a Personal ID and fill out the form that follows.

Once you have signed into NoodleBib, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Create a New Project button on the right.
  2. Select MLA and then Advanced from the options. If you were using APA for another class, you would select that option here.
  3. Type a brief Description and hit Enter. On the next page, look in the Components section for the Works Cited button.
  4. Now we can add our sources one by one. Use the Cite a: drop-down menu to find the item closest to your source, then select Create Citation.
  5. Choose carefully! It can be hard to tell which item to use, so consider what your source is. NoodleBib gives you a chance to review what each source type looks like.
  6. Next, add author, title, date of publication, & more into the fields given. Fill out as many fields as you can. Leave blank any fields which are irrelevant.
  7. Now click Submit at the bottom. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each of your sources.
  8. When you have a complete list of sources, click the Print/Export button.
  9. There are several export options, but Print/Export to Word is often the best.
  10. Review your citations to make sure there aren't any errors! If you misspelled something, NoodleBib won't notice, so make sure everything looks OK before you turn in your assignment.
