What do you do with a regular powerpoint presentation?
Make it smaller with iSpring before you put it up in Angel or send it through email. Click here to go to iSpring: Be sure to go to the Download Now link on the page. It’s the free version. iSpring is installed on all public computers. Faculty will need to work through IT to get this installed.
Don't have Powerpoint software?
One option is to send them to 280 Slides at http://280slides.com/ where they can create slide presentations from scratch, compress them into Flash videos, and share them via links or embed code.
What do you do if you’re bored with PowerPoint presentations?
Try Prezi! http://www.prezi.com Prezi not only works in the cloud, but it provides an interesting way to present information to your students. Or your students can use it to create fun and stimulating presentations. Follow this link to learn how to use Prezi.
Other presentation options:
http://www.timeglider.com – A web-based timeline software for creating and sharing history and project planning.
http://www.photopeach.com – Create, share, embed slideshows. This is great for image-heavy, content-light slide shows. It’s very easy to use and link.
How do you facilitate collaboration on group projects?
Introduce your students to Google Docs. Create and share your work online with Google Docs. Every student has access through their existing Skipjack Account. Files can be uploaded from their desktops or created in google docs. The files can be accessed anywhere; viewing and editing can be done via computer or smart phone. Work can be shared and collaboration can happen in real time which means their projects get done quickly.
VoiceThread is another alternative to collaboration.
