When selecting library resources to assign as readings for your class, please note which e-book collections can be used and which cannot, due to limitations on the number of students that can simultaneously access them, or due to download limitations.
Note that links to library resources should have 2 parts:
Be sure that your links to Chesapeake College Library subscription resources begin with the following prefix so that off-campus users will get routed through EZproxy, the library's authentication mechanism:
http://ccproxy.idm.oclc.org/login?url=
For a number of resources, simply cutting and pasting the link from the browser's address bar will not work. You need to look and see if the resource indicates a specific link to use. It may be called a persistent URL, a stable URL, a permalink, a document URL, "link to this page," or something similar. See instructions for specific resources below.
Click on "Share" icon on the Toolbar on the right and then click the Create Link to reveal the link.
Please use e-books in this database as assigned textbooks ONLY if the Permissions say "Unlimited copies available." (Books that say "Limited User Access" can be taken into consideration, but unlimited copies must be purchased in advance of use in any course, and funding is limited. Please check with the Library to see if an unlimited copies purchase is an option for a title)
Under the cover photo of the ebook, look for "Share link to book." Upon clicking the link, a pop-up window will appear with a link to copy. To the right of the cover photo the availability of the ebook will be stated. To use the ebook in a class, the availability needs to say, "Your institution has unlimited access to this book."
Click "Get Link."
