Academic Support
The Academic Support Center (ASC) located on the first floor of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) on the Wye Mills campus and the Multi-service Center (MSC) located in Cambridge provide tutoring and learning resources for students in a variety of disciplines and at various levels of academic preparation. Free tutoring in math, science, technology, and writing is provided one-on-one or in small groups, and by appointment or drop-in. Each semester, specific hours are dedicated to tutor-led sessions for help with high-demand courses and college study skills. Tutoring schedules change each semester. Appointments are encouraged.
Both centers are safe places, where tutees can be comfortable sharing their writing, their ideas, and themselves with tutors, who foster learning and growth. The centers work with students to grow their knowledge, help students become independent learners, and create an environment of cooperation to support student success in their college coursework and beyond.
ASC and MSC support services are free and offered both online and face-to-face. Students are encouraged to make their own tutoring appointments through the LRC Services tab in MyCampus. For assistance, please contact ASC staff at asc@chesapeake.edu.
