We hire tutors from various backgrounds, from peer tutors who are current students to experienced educators who are former faculty to members of the community with relevant life experience. In general, we look for people who are good communicators, open, friendly, responsible, and eager to learn, as well as having succeeded in the field they apply to tutor.
We tend to hire tutors for math, the natural sciences, writing, humanities, business, and technology. All tutors participate in required, ongoing training to prepare for and continue to improve their tutoring.
