Course Recording Policy

Being on Camera in Class

When in an online course, it may be recorded by the instructor to be used by other student.  The following applies to all Chesapeake College courses.

This class is being audio-visually recorded so students who cannot attend a particular session or who wish to review material can access the full content.  This recording will include students' images,  profile images, and spoken words - if their camera is engaged and their microphone is live.  Students who participate with their camera engaged or who utilize a profile image are agreeing to have their video or image recorded.  If you are unwilling to consent to have your profile or video image recorded, be sure to keep your camera off and do not use a profile image.  Likewise, students who un-mute microphones during class and participate orally are agreeing to have their voices recorded.  if you are not willing to consent to have your voice recorded during class, you will need to keep your mute button activated and communicate/participate exclusively alternative formats such as the "chat" feature, email, or Canvas tools.

Reminder:  Being on camera is like being on campus, please dress appropriately.
